Equanimity means mental or emotional calmness, balance, and composure, especially under stress, pressure, or difficult circumstances. Jack Kornfield, Meditation teacher and author, calls equanimity a “radical acceptance of life.” He believes equanimity comes from learning to be comfortable with not knowing. Cultivating equanimity can help us find our center and trust the unfolding of our lives and our world, whatever comes to us.
This workshop will include some sharing of information from yoga philosophy, group discussion, and a guided practice. The goal is to identify tools to help you cultivate habits to center yourself and cultivate openness to what is happening. Participants will be invited to practice standing, seated, and floor movements – adaptations will be given as needed, chairs are available for those who need.
Fee for this 2-hour class is $50. Pre-registration is required.
